Get to Know Merideth!
A former Customer Service Rep, Merideth is now responsible for introducing new clients and CSRs to Balance Point.
What is your role at Balance Point? I am the Training Supervisor. I manage a team of two trainers as well as handle all new hire and internal training.
How long have you worked at Balance Point? I will celebrate my 9 year anniversary in June 2021.
Tell us about your career at Balance Point. How has it progressed? I started out as a Customer Service Representative right after graduating college. I eventually moved over to the Implementation Team, then took on the role of Trainer before ultimately being promoted to Training Supervisor. I was the first CSR hired at Balance Point without any payroll experience, so I guess you can say I was the guinea pig for internal training! My job really has come full circle as now I am responsible for training our new CSRs.
What support do you provide for our clients? My team and I provide all training content for our clients. That includes conducting one-on-one trainings of the different areas of the software, recording how-to videos, and creating step-by-step guides.
How is Balance Point’s approach different? I think what really makes our process special is that we build a relationship with the client, so they are getting a personalized experience. Not only do we strive to provide the best customer service possible, but we also provide our clients with the tools and training to feel confident and comfortable navigating our software and services.
How does it make you feel when a client gives your team good feedback? Ecstatic! My team is a new client’s first point of contact, so it really sets the tone for how their time here with us is going to go. When good feedback comes in for one of my team members, I know this client is in it for the long haul.
What traits do you possess that make you successful at your job? When it comes to work, I am super-decisive and focused. With a lot of moving parts in my day (managing a team, new hires, help center and creating internal training content) being able to quickly make decisions and focus on completing my projects really helps me succeed.
When you’re not working, where can we find you? Outside! Whether it is spending the day at the beach, going on a hike, or taking part in a fun run like the Tough Mudder.
